Dual Citizenship – SoCal/NoCal

A friend once jokingly asked me, “How’s dual citizenship?” She was referring to my commuting back and forth between Northern California and Southern California for all my professional obligations. We laughed then, but I now use that phrase often, in all seriousness.

I have to admit, it’s pretty delightful to call both loCALes of this fine state “home.” Although I’m now living in the Bay Area, being able to bring loads of laundry to my mom’s house like a college kid when I’m down south for a gig feels pretty cool (not to mention the delicious home-cooked meals).

This past week has been a prime example of my “dual citizenship.” Since Sunday, my professional obligations have taken me to Los Angeles, North Hollywood, San Francisco, Century City, and Oakland… in that order.

Despite the insanity of all the driving and losing track of what city I’m in, it’s pretty wonderful to have the opportunity to do all this singing with great musicians, colleagues, and friends.

The commuting extravaganza was kicked off with True North at blue whale, which was SUCH A FUN SHOW thanks to all the wonderful people who were there and cheered for us on Mother’s Day. Here’s what’s coming up through June:
