Some friends and colleagues and I got together last weekend to hold space for and sing a song in tribute to the people of Palestine.
I know that people are being very careful about the words they chose to say about what’s going on right now, for fear of being seen as for or against a political side. While I understand it’s a very delicate and complicated situation, it makes me a little sad that it can misinterpreted as any kind of bad thing to speak out against the oppression, death, and destruction of a whole culture of people.
My hope is for a swift end to the genocide of the Palestinian people, for a balanced resolution, and for a safe return of *all* the hostages. My heart goes out to all the innocent people living in and around the region and the entire globe who have been adversely affected by apartheid and colonial imperialism.
